In August 2023, Chorus Aviation Inc., a Canada-based holding company, announced that its subsidiary, Voyageur Aviation Corp., will expand its air ambulance service in New Brunswick. This expansion is the result of a amendment to Voyageur's contract with Ambulance New Brunswick. Voyageur operates two King Air 200s for Ambulance New Brunswick. The amendment enables the usage of the secondary aircraft for air ambulance services to encompass Grand Manan Island. Both airplanes, maintained by Voyageur, are outfitted with critical medical and life-saving equipment.
In April 2023, Health, an on-demand ambulance start-up, launched air ambulance services (RED Air Guardian) with 25+ aircraft in over 550 places across India. Each air ambulance is outfitted with state-of-the-art medical technology, clinical pathways, and a crew of experienced critical care experts. RED.Health wants to streamline the fragmented air ambulance sector, reduce operational costs, and assemble a team of clinical professionals capable of safely evacuating patients from any terrain or geography.
In September 2022, The Irish Community Air Ambulance, Ireland’s only charity Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) provider, launched a fundraising campaign at the National Ploughing Championships, an outdoor agricultural show in Ireland incorporating a ploughing contest, to provide its ground-based Volunteer Emergency Medical Responders with advanced lifesaving equipment. The charity has set a target of raising USD 100171.70 to purchase portable ventilators.
