Seafood is low in calories however, has high protein, vitamins (A, D, and B-complex), long chain omega 3 fatty acids, calcium, zinc, and minerals content. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and World Health Organization 2011 report, among the general adult population, consumption of fatty fish such as salmon and tuna lowers the risk of mortality from coronary heart disease.
