Summary

Micro-electromechanical system or MEMS microphones are constructed with a MEMS component placed on a printed circuit board (PCB) and protected with a mechanical cover. A tiny hole is introduced in the case, in order to allow sound into the microphone. Generally, these applications require miniature size, low power, and relatively high data quality.
