Panel to examine how predictive technologies, data science, and sensors can be applied in food processing, and what slows adoption
Mumbai, India, October 2026: A panel at ProFood India 2026 will look at how Indian food processors can use innovation and advanced technologies to improve plant efficiency, quality, and competitiveness. Titled “Role of Innovation in Sparking Growth of Indian Food Processing Industry,” the session will be held on October 29, 2026, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Mumbai, and moderated by Coherent Market Insights (CMI).
The discussion will start with the common Indian SME food processor and how family-run businesses look at technology investment. Panelists will discuss the impact of predictive technologies on plant efficiency, quality assurance, and supply chain management. Practical uses of data science, sensors, simulation and geospatial analytics in food processing will be covered as well.
The panel will look at the barriers equally. These include investment costs, implementation time, return on investment, lack of skilled manpower, cybersecurity issues, and integration with existing machinery. It will also examine the benefits of adoption, including food safety, traceability, production efficiency, and waste reduction.
