Gallbladder cancer is a relatively rare cancer that is most common in older women. It is often discovered at its late stage, when it is no longer possible to remove the gallbladder surgically. The gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ on the right side of the abdomen, just beneath the liver. The gallbladder stores bile, a digestive fluid produced by liver.
