The Q5 facelift will go on sale in the global market by the end of 2020 and the India-spec variant will be introduced by 2021.

Audi, a German automobile manufacturer has unveiled the updated and facelifted variant of the Q5 SUV, which is expected to make its India debut in 2021. Now, the company has taken the wraps off its new, India-bound Q5 facelift. The all-new Q5 looks sportier and comes with new cosmetic changes on the interior and exterior. The front end of the vehicle is updated with the new octagonal single-frame grille that is connected to the headlamps. The new front grille looks quite larger than the outgoing variant of the Q5.

With more chrome elements, the facelifted Q5 will be available with the option of a traditional grille. The vehicle will be available in both petrol and diesel variants in India. However, the company will offer only one petrol variant of the 2020 Q5 facelift. The India-bound Q5 will be equipped with the 45TFSI spec, 2.0-liter TFSI (Turbo fuel stratified injection) petrol engine that churns out 245 hp of power and 370 Nm of peak torque. The all-new Q5 is identical to the spec on the Audi A6, which is currently on sale in India.

The engine unit will be paired with a seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission system and Quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) will be standard. Now, the Q5 gets a new LED daytime running light setup, standard across all variants while the Matrix LED headlamp will be available on higher variants. The Q5 facelift will go on sale in the global market by the end of 2020. Only the India-spec variant of the Q5 will be introduced by 2021. In early 2020, the company sold out the Q5 to implement BS-VI norms. After the launch, the Q5 facelift is expected to compete with the Volvo XC60, BMW X3, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and Mercedes-Benz GLC. The expected price of the all-new Q5 is US$ 72827.90 (ex-showroom).
