CJ ENM starts an AI Content Alliance to Create a Partnership Between the Industry and Universities

CJ ENM announced on the 10th that it has started the "AI Content Alliance" with AI-focused small and medium-sized production companies and educational institutions. The goal is to create an AI content industry ecosystem in South Korea, making it globally competitive.

The launch event was attended by Kim Jaehyun, policy chief at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, as well as representatives from CJ ENM and 13 other companies, including award-winning startups and content producers. Five universities that focus on training talent for AI content media also joined. The alliance plans to involve more media and tech companies from both Korea and abroad in the future.

The alliance will focus on five main activities:

  • Producing unique AI content
  • Researching specialized AI technologies
  • Developing skilled professionals
  • Expanding content distribution in Korea and globally
  • Creating a policy framework to support AI content

This year, the alliance will create a program to train professionals in AI content and introduce it at universities. They also plan to begin joint production projects in the second half of the year, with regular workshops to match companies for collaboration.

Through this alliance, CJ ENM aims to speed up AI content projects and help both small production companies and educational institutions grow together, ensuring the long-term development of the AI content industry.

Executive Statement

According to Policy Chief Kim Jaehyun, the AI Content Alliance is a starting point for seeking new creative opportunities by combining AI content technology with content, and for leaping forward as a global AI content hub. They will support private-sector innovation through timely support and investment, and establish an institutional foundation that enables continued cooperation and a virtuous cycle.

According to Yoon Sanghyun, CEO of CJ ENM, behind the K-content industry, which is leading the global market, there has been a well-balanced ecosystem built on the efforts and determination of a wide range of industry players. Through this alliance, CJ ENM will swiftly build a cooperative AI content ecosystem that connects production, technology, distribution, talent, and policy, and contribute to Korea's leap forward as an 'AI cultural powerhouse'.
