Fluence, a major supplier of energy-efficient LED lighting for cannabis cultivation, will reveal its new Red Sandwich lighting system at MJBizCon 2025 in Las Vegas. The system, built after years of research, has top and under-canopy lighting to optimize red light intensity, improving energy efficiency by 26% as well as enhancing flower quality. The Red Sandwich will be displayed alongside Fluence's other products like RAPTR 2, PYTHN, SPYDR 3, and VYPR 4 at Booth #15023.
Fluence will also display RAPTR 2, its next-gen toplight with dynamic red-plus-white spectrum control, which uses up to 20% less energy.
Other products on display include PYTHN, Fluence’s under-canopy lighting that enhances lower-canopy growth and improves A-grade bud production; VYPR 4, the next-gen greenhouse toplight designed for high-output operations; and SPYDR 3, the latest version of Fluence's multi-tier lighting solution first introduced at MJBizCon 10 years ago.
Executive Statement
According to Dr. David Hawley, principal scientist at Fluence, the Red Sandwich is a perfect example of how disciplined science leads to practical cannabis technology innovation. By repositioning high-red light beneath the canopy and pairing it with complementary high-red top light, they have unlocked new levels of efficiency and consistency across the plant. It’s not just about producing more light—it’s about putting photons where the plant needs them most. RAPTR 2 reflects the next stage of evolution in dynamic lighting. By providing growers with precise control over spectral balance, they enable fine-tuned plant responses throughout flowering, maintain quality at higher intensities, and push efficiency further than ever.
