Ford Reveals 2021 Bronco Sport SUV

The Bronco Sport shares its footings with the Ford Kuga or Escape SUV, currently on sale in the global market.

Ford, the U.S. based carmaker has revealed its new SUV named the Bronco Sport that sits lower in the company’s new Bronco family. The company has taken the wraps off its all-new retro-styled, five-door variant that sits below the standard Bronco SUV. The Bronco Sport is a road-centric offering with the same rugged look for everyday driving. The SUV shares its footings with the Ford Kuga or Escape SUV, currently on sale in the global market. The Bronco Sport measures 2,087 mm in width, 4,386 mm in length, and has 2,667 mm of wheelbase.

The SUV is slightly bigger or larger in comparison to the Jeep Compass SUV that is currently on sale in India. Moreover, it comes with a 599 mm water fording capability, 224 mm of ground clearance, 33.1-degree departure angle, and a 20.4-degree break-over angle. The Bronco Sport is available with two engine options. The SUV is equipped with a three-cylinder, 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine that makes out 181 hp of power and a 2.0-liter engine that delivers 245 hp of power. Both the engine units are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and higher variants are equipped with paddle shifters.

The SUV features an 8-inch infotainment system, powered by the Ford SYNC3 system. The Bronco Sport comes with standard safety features such as automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-view camera, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, a blind-spot monitor, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Moreover, customers can add lane-centering and adaptive cruise control, as well as voice-activated touchscreen navigation and evasive steering assist. However, the company has not yet revealed any details about the launch of the India-spec Bronco Sport while the SUV’s rival, the Jeep Compass is currently on sale in India.
