Hyundai Motor Group announced the launch of the ‘MobED Alliance’, a group working together on its new mobile robot platform called MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid). The alliance includes companies, public agencies, and suppliers who will help bring the robot to the market in South Korea.
The launch took place at the Automation World 2026 trade event in Seoul. This event shows that MobED is moving from demonstrations at technology shows to real business and service use in Korea.
Important people at the launch included Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB staff, suppliers like Hyundai Transys Inc. and SL Corporation, public agencies like the Korea Association of AI Robot Industry (KAR), and executives from robotics solution companies such as LS THiRA-UTECH Co. Ltd. and Kaon Robotics.
According to coherent market insights, Autonomous Mobile Robots Market is estimated to be valued at USD 4.00 Bn in 2025 and is expected to reach USD 11.44 Bn in 2032, exhibiting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.2% from 2025 to 2032.
According to Dong Jin Hyun, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB “The MobED Alliance is a collaborative framework designed to extend MobED – a technology already validated on the global stage, such as CES and iREX. This is significant because we are moving beyond simple corporate partnerships and entering a stage of concrete commercialization in Korea through an ecosystem model where public agencies, robot solution companies, firms and component suppliers participate together.”
