Samyang Foods, a well-known Korean food brand, has launched a new air-dried pasta brand called Tangle, which is exclusively available overseas. The first product under this brand is Tangle Bulgogi Alfredo Tangluccine, an instant pasta that blends traditional Korean flavors with familiar Western ones.
The premium air-dried noodles are prepared using a special process at a new factory outlet in Miryang, Korea. First, the noodles are boiled and then dried at a low temperature for a considerable period, giving them a bouncy texture resembling the hand-pulled noodles. The name "Tangluccine" is an integration of the Korean word "tangle" (which means bouncy) and the word "fettuccine" (a type of flat noodle). Tangle’s distinctive brand design even won the 2023 Good Design Award in the Brand Design segment.
The initial product, Tangle Bulgogi Alfredo Tangluccine, brings a unique twist by mixing Bulgogi, a conventional Korean barbecue flavor, with the similar Alfredo sauce. This mix of savory, sweet, and creamy flavors makes it easy for American consumers to enjoy, even if they are not familiar with Korean food.
Currently available in the U.S. and Canada, Tangle plans to expand into other regions like Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and Asia. With this new product, Samyang Foods hopes to make as well as lead a new K-pasta market, bringing a fresh Korean twist to the world of pasta.
