Skoda Launches 2020 Superb Facelift in India

The company has decided to offer a petrol-only model of the 2020 Superb. The vehicle will not be available in a diesel variant.

Skoda, a Czech automobile manufacturer has launched the next-generation Superb on May 26 in India. It comes with a new BS-VI compliant engine option and added cosmetic features to increase its appeal. The all-new Superb is available in two trims; Laurin & Klement (L&K) and Sportline. The price of the next-gen Superb starts at US$ 39620.84 and goes up to US$ 43584.24 (ex-showroom, pan-India). The price of the all-new Superb is around US$ 5284.54 compared to the outgoing model. The company has decided to offer a petrol-only model of the 2020 Superb. The vehicle will not be available in a diesel variant.

The all-new Superb is equipped with a new 2.0-liter TSI (turbocharged stratified injection) petrol engine that delivers 190 hp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The 2.0-liter unit replaces the old 1.8-liter TSI petrol engine. The engine unit is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission system as standard. The L&K variant of 2020 Superb is available in five color options; Magnetic Brown, Magic Black, Business Grey, Moon White, and Lava Blue. Whereas the Sportline variant is available in three color options; Steel Grey, Moon White, and Race Blue.

The all-new Superb features a new LED headlamp, a tweaked front grille and bumper, new alloy wheels, and more chrome on the rear. The Sportline variant of the Superb features a rear spoiler and blacked-out exterior elements. Moreover, the next-gen Superb features a digital instrument cluster, an updated infotainment system, wireless charging, Kanton audio system, ventilated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, three-zone climate control, hands-free parking, and more. However, it will depend on the variant. The standard Superb comes with dual-tone black-and-beige upholstery whereas the Sportline variant comes with an all-black cabin. The 2020 Superb will compete against the Toyota Camry Hybrid.
