Recent Developments in Nasal Splints Industry

The scope of the nasal splints industry looks optimistic. This is mainly due to increasing popularity of rhinoplasty and septoplasty and ongoing technological advancements.

In February 2025, A first-of-its-kind medical education course was hosted by Smith+Nephew and UFC for the treatment of injuries in combat sports athletes. Chaired by Dr. Michael Banffy from the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute, the course was intended to discuss current trends and techniques for treating combat sports injuries.

The company also showcased its leading techniques, technologies, and solutions to help athletes get back to competing at the highest level. In March 2024, Smith+Nephew was named the Preferred Sports Medicine Technology Partner of UFC.

UFC fighters suffer from nasal fractures, septal deviations, and other orthopedic injuries. This leads to a greater demand for medical products like splints and orthopedic implants for stabilization and recovery. Smith+Nephew will supply these healthcare products.

In May 2024, Sporogenics received approval from Singapore’s Health Science Authority (HAS) for the SPORONGE Intranasal Splint, its first anti-adhesion medical device. The new unique product uses the company’s proprietary immunomodulating biomaterials and is designed to prevent adhesions between the septum and the nasal cavity and minimize bleeding and edema.

In February 2023, Innovia Medical unveiled its Summit Medical ENT product range in the United Kingdom during the BACO International 2023 trade show. The new product line features Grommets and Ventilation Tubes, AbsorbENT and Sinus Packs, Rhino Rocket, and Denvir Splint. These medical solutions will be used by healthcare providers in clinics and hospitals.

Denver Splint, composed of moldable aluminum, is designed to stabilize the nose after surgery or trauma. It has the tendency to retain bone position and reduce swelling. Unlike other nasal splint types, Denver Splint is more comfortable, discreet, and hassle-free. It is available in 4 sizes to meet specific requirements of patients.

In April 2023, Inverness Graham acquired Innovia Medical. The Philadelphia-based firm will invest in sales and marketing and research and development (R&D) of Innovia Medical to accelerate organic growth.

The new developments are set to fuel growth of the nasal splints industry during the forecast period. They are set to improve health outcomes and enhance the quality of life of patients suffering from nasal deformities and injuries.

Smith+Nephew’s collaboration with UFC and introduction of new medical course will play a key role in boosting sales of orthopedic implants as well as nasal splints. Launch of new products, such as Innovia Medical’s Summit Medical ENT product range, is expected to revolutionize the nasal splints industry by offering advanced solutions for post-surgical nasal care and recovery.

Soprogenics’ SPORANGE Intranasal Splint shows a significant advancement in postoperative care for nasal surgeries. Similarly, top companies like Summit Medical Group and Surgiform Technologies are exploring new designs and materials like for nasal splints. This will further boost growth of the nasal splints industry during the assessment period.
