Anastrozole tablets are used for the treatment of postmenopausal women diagnosed with hormone-receptor-positive, early-stage breast cancer after surgery or postmenopausal women diagnosed with advanced-stage or metastatic hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer. Anastrozole oral tablet is available as a generic drug and as a brand-name drug. The brand name for Anastrozole tablet is Arimidex. Tablet is the only formulation available for anastrozole. The dose of anastrozole is given in 1 mg tablet taken once a day. Anastrozole was approved in 1995 for medical use in the U.S.
Market Dynamics

Anastrozole is designed to reduce the incidence of estrogen-sensitive breast cancers. It does so by inhibiting aromatase, an enzyme crucial to the production of the hormone. Furthermore, there is huge population of breast cancer patients who opt for surgery and other treatment options.
