Accelerant introduced its new CoatPRO pre-roll coating automation machine at MJBizCon 2025 in Las Vegas. The CoatPRO is designed for high-volume kief-coating operations, capable of producing 1,200 pre-rolls per hour with just one operator. The company is keeping the technology under wraps, so the machine’s inner workings remain a mystery.
According to Schuster, the CoatPRO produces perfectly coated pre-rolls that are ready to be packaged and sold right away. During the live demonstration, Schuster even wrote his name (or initials) on a pre-roll and ran it through the machine, showing off how well it coated with kief.
While kief-coating is popular with consumers, it is usually time-consuming and requires a lot of manual work. Schuster believes the CoatPRO solves this problem by making the process much more efficient.
Accelerant has entered the cone manufacturing market, setting up a shop in Iowa to address procurement issues and reduce lead times. They now offer a range of cone colors and custom engraving services, including options like paper, ceramic, and glass tips, allowing companies to brand and customize their cones.
Accelerant continues to offer an equipment-as-a-service model and has recently invested over $1 million to upgrade its equipment. Schuster plans to make similar investments in 2026.
Last year, Accelerant produced 50 million pre-rolls with its equipment, and this year they doubled that number to 100 million. Schuster expects to produce 250 million cones next year, with half of them being used by Accelerant's own customers.
Executive Statement
