
California American Water announced the complete acquisition of the Bass Lake Water Company system. This acquisition, finalized on August 19, 2025, brings approximately 1,000 customers in the Bass Lake area under California American Water’s service umbrella. The company aims to strengthen water infrastructure along with enhancing service in communities around the state.
California American Water will begin to provide water service to Bass Lake customers from August 19, 2025. California American Water will drop an email to the respective residents within the next week to facilitate a smooth transition. Bass Lake residents will be able to take advantage of the company’s customer service benefits, such as its online account management portal, MyWater. ‘
This was California American Water’s eighth acquisition in the past five years, adding more than 13,000 new water and/or wastewater customers since 2020.

By selling the water system to California American Water they are securing the needed expertise to successfully operate in their new water treatment plant and make required infrastructure improvements to provide high-quality service.
