Cummins Announced That It Will Introduce Its New 2027 Products In Different Stages Instead Of Launching Them All At Once

Cummins has updated its plan for launching its new 2027 truck engines in North America after the U.S. government proposed changes to future emissions rules.

The company will introduce its new HELM engine platform in stages instead of all at once. This will aid Cummins follow the new rules, support customers, as well as increase production smoothly.

Production of the new X15 engine will start in small numbers in January 2027 and is expected to reach full production by the end of 2027. The current X15 engine will continue to be available during the changeover.

The new X10 engine will also begin limited production in January 2027 and is expected to reach full production by the third quarter of 2027. The current X12 as well as L9 engines will remain available during the transition.

The new X10 and X15 engines are made to improve fuel efficiency while maintaining reliable performance.

Cummins also confirmed that its next-generation B engine platform is expected to launch in January 2028. The current B6.7 engine will continue to be available through 2027 to support customers during the transition.
