DENSO Manufacturing Michigan (DMMI) acquired SYSTEX Products Corporation (SPC) from Shimizu Industry, effective January 1, 2027, through a stock purchase.
This acquisition will provide the two Battle Creek companies together, fueling DMMI's thermal manufacturing capabilities as well as improving efficiency across both teams. Over 200 SPC employees will join DMMI and become DENSO staff.
Since Shimizu Industry is part of the DENSO Corporation group, and SPC has been working closely with DENSO for years, this move is part of DENSO’s ongoing strategy to streamline its North American operations and enhance its ability to produce next-generation thermal products.
DMMI, established in 1984, was DENSO’s first U.S. manufacturing site. It is now a leading producer of automotive thermal solutions, employing over 2,100 people. SPC, founded in 1992, specializes in components for automotive air conditioning and engine cooling systems, with a facility covering over 200,000 square feet.
This acquisition reflects DENSO’s commitment to evolving its operations and meeting the future needs of its customers.
Executive Statement
According to Shuichi Kamakura, president of DMMI, integrating SPC into DMMI is a strategic step that will make their operations stronger and more agile. By combining teams, systems and capabilities in Battle Creek, they will improve our competitiveness and focus on efficient, high‑quality manufacturing that supports their customers across the region. They look forward to working together over the next 12 months to ensure a smooth transition.
