FPT, a global tech company, and Telechips, a leading chipmaker from Korea, are teaming up to create a new Digital Cockpit to improve the user experience, safety, and speed of innovation without making the hardware more complicated.
Called Smart AI Cabin, this platform uses AI to make automotive dashboards smarter. It's easy to install and can be changed or updated quickly, making it ready for future upgrades. The system also includes real-time intelligence, software that can upgrade over the air (OTA), as well as an AI manager that adjusts over 30 features to help with things like personalization and safety.
The system is built with AI at its core, meaning the AI isn’t just an extra feature, it’s a key part of how the car works. It runs on Telechips’ Dolphin 5 chip and manages over 30 AI features in the car.
These features include learning driver preferences, smart navigation, saving energy, recognizing voices and faces, as well as monitoring the driver and passengers. The system works fast, with response times as low as 30 milliseconds, and most tasks are done directly in the car to reduce the need for cloud processing.
Executive Statement
According to Nguyen Duc Kinh, FPT Software EVP and FPT Automotive CEO, FPT Corporation, this collaboration reflects a shared vision between FPT and System On A Chip (SoC) to move beyond traditional digital cockpits toward truly intelligent, autonomous vehicle chips experiences. By combining automotive-grade silicon with scalable AI software, they are enabling OEMs to innovate faster while delivering meaningful value to drivers and passengers.
