
Hyundai Motor Company has started its all-electric IONIQ brand in China. At the launch event in Beijing before the Auto China 2026 show on April 24, the company showed two new concept cars.
Hyundai also shared a plan to grow in China, making the IONIQ brand not just about cars, but a full mobility experience.
The two new electric concept cars for China are the VENUS Concept, a stylish sedan, and the EARTH Concept, a reliable family SUV. These cars show that Hyundai is ready for China’s new energy vehicle market.
IONIQ is Hyundai’s all-electric car brand and is known globally for its design, quality, as well as innovation. Popular models like IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and IONIQ 9 show Hyundai’s strong electric car technology as well as focus on people.
IONIQ has won many awards, including World Car Awards for the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. High-performance versions, like IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N, show the brand’s leadership in electric car performance. The IONIQ 6 N was named 2026 World Performance Car.
In China, IONIQ will not just sell cars but offer a full mobility experience for local customers. It will keep Hyundai’s safety and quality standards while adding local technologies and services for China’s fast-growing new energy vehicle market.
Hyundai will also use a new naming system in China, naming future IONIQ cars after planets, showing that each car is centered around the customer.
