Innoviz Technologies has introduced its latest LiDAR sensor, InnovizThree, which is a major improvement over its previous model, InnovizTwo. The new InnovizThree is smaller, lighter, as well as uses less power, all while delivering advanced performance. The smaller size makes it simple to install behind the windshield or on the roof of vehicles, giving car manufacturers more flexibility in how they design their vehicles.
Key Features of InnovizThree:
- Compact Size: The InnovizThree weighs just 600 grams as well as has a smaller design, making it easy to fit in different areas of the car, such as the roof interior, behind the windshield, or in the front grille. It’s also a good fit for AI platforms like robots, drones, and humanoid machines.
- Lower Cost: The price of InnovizThree is 35% lower than InnovizTwo, making it more affordable while still improving performance. It has better long-distance accuracy and can detect objects up to 250 meters away.
- Energy Efficiency: InnovizThree also has a low-power mode that only uses 13 watts, which helps save energy and reduces noise when installed behind the windshield.
As per Coherent Market Insights, the Autonomous Vehicle Market will grow at an 39.9% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2025 to 2032, from USD 204.46 Bn in 2025 to around USD 2,144.53 Bn by 2032. The autonomous vehicle market is undergoing significant developments due to increased collaboration between automotive and electronics companies.
