New York Robotics (NYR) officially launched with SDP/SI, a global leader in precision gears and mechanical parts, as a founding partner. This highlights how important smart manufacturing is for New York's growing robotics industry.
The launch marks the growth of the Tri-State area’s robotics scene, now home to over 160 startups, nearly 100 of which are in New York City. The region is becoming a major robotics hub, joining places like Boston, Silicon Valley, and Munich. With SDP/SI’s partnership, NYR is focusing on the hardware and manufacturing needed to support developments in software, AI, and robotics.
This announcement comes as NYR sponsors AlleyCorp’s first Deep Tech NY conference, showing New York’s rise as a key center for robotics innovation, investment, and manufacturing. Over the last two years, NYR has built a large network of over 450 robotics startups worldwide, along with corporations, investors, academic institutions, and government organizations.
NYR, founded in January 2024, was created to fill a gap in New York's robotics scene, where software and physical manufacturing have often been separate. SDP/SI helps close that gap by providing startups with the precision parts and engineering support they need to move from prototypes to production.
NYR also launched the NYR Index, a platform giving partners exclusive data about startups, investors, research labs, and companies in the robotics field. Over the past two years, NYR has hosted or co-hosted more than 20 events, including the first-ever robotics programming at NY TechWeek.
