The Paragon Health Institute has launched the Health Care AI Initiative to promote the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. The goal of this initiative is to use AI to lower healthcare costs, reduce waste, speed up the availability of life-saving treatments, and improve patient care.
AI has become a major focus in healthcare because it has the potential to improve diagnosis, treatment, and drug development. However, some AI tools can give unpredictable results, raising concerns about how AI should be used in medicine. Paragon's new initiative will take a leading role in these discussions and aims to:
- Show how AI can help reduce healthcare costs
- Fight against government rules that might limit AI's use in healthcare
- Educate lawmakers about how AI can help fight fraud, waste, and abuse
- Encourage safe and responsible use of AI in hospitals and clinics
- Support the development of AI to help patients and improve healthcare outcomes, especially in rural areas
- Ensure that the U.S. stays a global leader in health care AI
Paragon Health Institute was created in late 2021 by Brian Blase. It is a non-profit organization that focuses on research and creating policy solutions to improve health outcomes. It does not accept money from the healthcare industry and does not engage in lobbying.
