
Sika, a global leader in creating solutions for bonding, sealing, and protecting in the construction and automotive industries, has opened a new advanced plant in Haines City, Florida. This plant will make high-performance superplasticizers for concrete, which are used in demanding construction projects across Florida and the Southeastern U.S.
The new Haines City plant is now up and running. It’s a big step in Sika’s efforts to support the concrete industry in this region. The plant showcases cutting-edge technology as well as automation, setting a new standard for efficient manufacturing in the U.S.
At the new facility, Sika will produce a line of its top admixture products, including ViscoCrete® and ViscoFlow, which enhance the strength, durability, and sustainability of concrete. The plant will also create eight new jobs in operations as well as logistics, helping to boost the local economy in Polk County.
This new investment helps Sika improve its supply chain, making it easier and faster to deliver products to customers in Florida and nearby areas.
At the new facility, Sika has used the best safety and process practices from other plants to improve efficiency. The plant also focuses on reducing water waste and carbon emissions, focusing to cut about 8,000 tons of carbon emissions by 2032. This shows Sika's commitment to being environmentally responsible and growing in a sustainable way.
