Unilever and Samsung introduced new laundry products for smart washing machines

Unilever and Samsung have worked together to make the first laundry detergent and conditioner made for smart washing machines that add detergent automatically.

Eduardo Campanella, Unilever’s Home Care President, explained how the new Persil and Comfort Smart Series® were designed to match the growing smart home trend.

Smart homes with smart machines are becoming very popular because people want easy, automatic ways to do chores like laundry.

This trend gives big growth opportunities in the home care market over the next ten years.

Unilever along with Samsung are operating together to make smart laundry products that cater to these new customer needs.

Since 2024, Unilever has used its laundry experience with brands like Persil and Comfort, as well as Samsung has used its smart appliance knowledge. Together, they are combining machine data, customer feedback, and new designs to create better laundry solutions.

Now, they are launching their first product from this partnership.

Persil and Comfort used their laundry care expertise to make Smart Series®, designed for smart washing machines with auto detergent dosing.

Persil Smart Series® Advanced Clean Non-Bio and Comfort Smart Series® Azure Bliss are recommended by Samsung and work in all auto dose washing machines.

These products are made using AI and robotics, making them the first major brand laundry products designed for auto dose machines.

They use PRO-CISION Technology® to clean clothes well, keep the scent, as well as prevent clogging in the machine, helping the washing machines work better and last longer.

According to coherent market insights, the Household Products Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.2% during 2025 to 2032. Currently, the market is at USD 45.2 Bn in 2026 and is expected to be around USD 68.7 Bn by 2033. Driven by rising urbanization, increasing disposable incomes, and growing consumer awareness of hygiene and sanitation.

The launch also marks an important milestone in our industry-defining partnership with Samsung and will include data-led recruitment of Samsung auto dose washing machine users to be the first to test the products, enabling a feedback loop to optimise the product range and channel.
