Utz Brands has launched two new limited-edition flavours of Cheese Balls: Utz Red Hot and Utz Cheese Pizza Mike's Hot Honey Cheese Balls.
Found in 14.5oz barrels until October, the two new flavors complement Utz's classic original Cheddar Cheese Balls in the brand's snack portfolio.
The Cheese Pizza Mike's Hot Honey flavor is the third product to result from the partnership between Utz and Mike's Hot Honey, following earlier releases of hot honey-flavored chips. The new snack is an attempt to pair the well-known tartness of cheese pizza with a sweet-and-spicy punch.
According to coherent market insights, snack products industry is anticipated to grow at a significant CAGR during the forecast period 2025-2032. The market is anticipated to increase at a high rate during the assessment period. Industry size is being propelled by increasing demand for packaged and ready to eat food products.
In addition to the new flavors, Utz has also redesigned the packaging of its original 23oz Cheddar Cheese Balls. The new barrel remains the same vintage size but boasts new branding.
Stacey Schultz, Utz Quality Foods' senior vice president of marketing, said: "Our Red Hot flavor adds a spicy kick to the original Cheese Balls, while the Utz Cheese Pizza Mike's Hot Honey flavor offers a new sweet-heat-savory mix that flavor adventurers will adore."
Mike Kurtz, founder of Mike's Hot Honey, said: "Our relationship with Utz keeps expanding in tasty new ways with the development of Utz Cheese Pizza Mike's Hot Honey Cheese Balls. We came up with the flavor combination from our beginnings as a pizza topping, when we first realized how wonderful our hot honey tastes on pizza.". Following the success of our potato chip and pretzel partnerships over the course of two years, this was a natural progression that develops a truly distinctive snacking experience."
The trio of products – original Cheddar, Red Hot, and Cheese Pizza Mike's Hot Honey Cheese Balls – can be found nationwide and online at the brand's site and on Amazon.
