Hanmi Semiconductor announced on January 5 that it will launch the EMI Shield 2.0 X series to meet the growing demand in the aerospace and low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication markets.
This new product, introduced three years after the previous version in December 2022, includes five models. Since 2016, Hanmi Semiconductor has held the No. 1 market share in EMI shielding equipment as well as has been supplying aerospace companies since 2023 for three back to back years.
EMI shielding is a technology that protects sensitive electronic components from interference caused by electromagnetic waves, which is especially important in aerospace, satellite communications, and defense drones. If these systems malfunction due to electromagnetic interference, it can create serious risks for satellites and rockets. The demand for EMI shielding has been increasing, especially with more Wi-Fi usage in airplane cabins.
The new EMI Shield 2.0 X series brings improved precision utilizing a special algorithm and strengthens reliability with multiple patented technologies. It also features an automatic device switching function, reducing the need for manual intervention and improving ease of use.
