Lonza, a Swiss company, is responding to the increasing demand for organic supplements by introducing a new capsule called Organicaps. These capsules are the first USDA-certified organic, plant-based pullulan capsules manufactured in North America. They will be showcased at SupplySide Global 2025 in Las Vegas, starting October 27.
Organicaps are designed to meet the growing consumer interest in organic food products. Research indicates that 73% of consumers are influenced by the utilization of organic ingredients, and 54% are willing to pay more for them.
These capsules have high oxygen barrier properties, non-reactive shells, and excellent stability, making them competitive with non-organic options.
In the United States, organic claims are regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture, which has specific needs around what kinds of claim language can be used, depending on their formulation. A few of the examples of such claims are “100% organic” or “made with organic ingredients.”
Manufactured in North America, Organicaps cater to the increasing preference for clean-label, non-GMO, and vegan-friendly products. By offering a reliable as well as compliant capsule option, Lonza supports brands in making high-quality organic supplements that come in line with consumer expectations and regulatory standards. The launch at SupplySide Global 2025 highlights Lonza's proactive approach in addressing market trends and fostering innovation in the nutraceutical industry.
