MacWeb has Launched a New Cloud Service in the U.S. East, Based in New Jersey

MacWeb, a provider of cloud services using Mac computers, has launched a new cloud region in New Jersey. This new US East region adds to its existing US West cloud region in Silicon Valley.

The new region offers customers access to Mac mini and Mac Studio servers located near Manhattan, as well as major network hubs.

This deployment is designed to support cloud services for Mac-based tasks, such as managing between 50 to 500 Mac mini or Mac Studio servers. It also helps with tasks like continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) for iOS and macOS apps, media and creative work, and AI processing on Apple hardware.

The data center is located in Secaucus, New Jersey, and is connected to New York City via a high-speed network, with links to other major cities like London, Boston, Montreal, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

MacWeb's goal is to work alongside major cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, not to replace them. The location was chosen for its easy access to key network connections, allowing for hybrid cloud setups.

Executive Statement

According to Eric Bickford, CEO of MacWeb, many application and AI engineers already develop on the Mac and want their cloud infrastructure to look and feel like what's on their desk. MacWeb gives them that environment in the cloud using clustered bare-metal Apple silicon hardware in a region that sits close to the hyperscalers they already use. The US East region is for teams that care about latency, cost, and getting into production quickly, not just experimenting. Traditional data centers are dominated by 1U and 2U servers that push hard on power and cooling. A dense Mac mini cluster gives their customers the compute they need in a compact footprint with high performance per watt. For operators who are already thinking about grid constraints and capacity planning, that matters as much as raw speed.
