Mazda Motor Corporation (Mazda) introduced two vision models, the MAZDA VISION X-COUPE and the MAZDA VISION X-COMPACT ('X' pronounced as 'cross'), during the press conference at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, both embodying the Company's theme for this year's exhibition: "The Joy of Driving Fuels a Sustainable Tomorrow" for 2035.
The Mazda VISION X‑COUPE is a sporty coupe showcasing the latest evolution of Mazda’s “KODO, Soul of Motion” design. This coupe utilizes a plug‑in hybrid with a two‑rotor rotary turbo engine plus an electric motor and battery. It delivers about 510 PS of power, can drive 160 km on electric only, and up to 800 km when using both engine and motor. It also runs on carbon‑neutral fuel made from microalgae and features Mazda’s “Mobile Carbon Capture” tech to help reduce CO₂ the more it’s driven.
On the other hand, the MAZDA VISION X-COMPACT is a model designed to deepen the bond between people and cars through the fusion of a human sensory digital model as well as empathetic Al. Acting like a close companion, it is capable of engaging in natural conversation and suggesting destinations, helping expand the driver's world. This represents Mazda's vision for the future of smart mobility, where vehicles and people form an emotional connection, much like a heartfelt relationship.
