NVIDIA extended its partnership with Synopsys to do advancements in engineering and design across various industries.
Teams working on research and development (R&D) in fields like semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, and more face big challenges, such as complex workflows, rising costs, and pressure to release products faster.
This partnership will integrate NVIDIA’s advanced AI and computing power with Synopsys' top engineering tools to aid R&D teams in designing, testing, and improving smart products more quickly, accurately, and at a lower cost. Additionally, NVIDIA has invested USD 2 billion in Synopsys by buying shares at USD 414.79 each.
NVIDIA and Synopsys are working together on a long-term project to improve engineering using faster computing. This partnership builds on their previous collaborations, which include several key initiatives:
- Speeding up Synopsys applications: Synopsys will utilize NVIDIA's advanced tools to make its software faster as well as more efficient for tasks like chip design, simulations, and electromagnetic examination.
- Improving AI in engineering: The companies are combining their AI technologies to make smarter, more automated ways to design as well as test electronic products.
- Bringing the digital and physical worlds together: They are developing advanced digital models (called "digital twins") that will help design, test, as well as validate products in fields like robotics, aerospace, automotive, and healthcare.
- Making solutions cloud-ready: Synopsys and NVIDIA plan to make their powerful engineering tools available on the cloud, so teams of all sizes can access them.
- Joint marketing efforts: The two companies will work together to promote these new technologies to a wider audience, using Synopsys' large network of sellers and partners.
While this partnership is strong, it is not exclusive. Both companies will continue to collaborate with other partners in the semiconductor and electronic design industries to create more opportunities for growth.
