Samsung Electronics has started making its new PM1763 SSD in large quantities. This SSD is made for next-generation AI and high-performance computing (HPC) servers. This will helps these systems store as well as process large amounts of data faster.
As AI systems need more data for training and use, companies need faster and more reliable storage solutions. The PM1763 SSD helps AI servers quickly access and transfer data.
The PM1763 provides very fast data transfer and is designed to support powerful AI platforms. It uses latest memory technology of Samsung, including 9th-generation V-NAND and a new 4-nanometer controller, which improve speed as well as reduce power usage.
The SSD is available in 4TB, 8TB, and 16TB versions. The 16TB model offers very high performance, with faster reading as well as writing speeds than the previous PM1753 model. This helps AI systems process data more efficiently.
The PM1763 can move a large 40GB AI language model in about 1.4 seconds, aid lower delays as well as improve AI performance.
The SSD is also designed for servers that use liquid cooling technology. This allows it to maintain high performance while heavy workloads for a long term.
The new SSD uses less power compared to the previous model, helping lower data center operating costs. It also includes stronger security features to protect AI data from future threats, including quantum computing risks.
In simple words, Samsung’s PM1763 is a high-speed storage device that helps AI servers work faster, handle more data, use less energy, and improve security.
According to coherent market insights, the Solid State Drive (SSD) Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 16.2% during 2026 to 2033, from USD 87.0 Mn in 2026 to around USD 249.0 Mn by 2033. The Solid State Drive (SSD) Market is experiencing robust expansion driven by escalating demand for fast, reliable storage across enterprise and consumer applications. Faster performance, reduced latency, and lower power usage make SSDs the preferred choice over traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), especially for data-hungry workloads in cloud computing, AI, virtualization, and gaming.
“Built on industry-leading performance, PM1763 has successfully completed validation for next-generation AI platforms and is well positioned to support evolving AI infrastructure requirements,” said Jangseok Choi, Vice President and Head of Memory Product Planning at Samsung Electronics. “As AI models continue to grow in size and complexity, PM1763 will serve as a key solution that enables customers to efficiently scale memory capacity and optimize AI operations.”
