REI Systems, a member of the Government Technology & Services Coalition (GTSC), has launched GovSBIR, a smart platform designed to improve and simplify the U.S. government’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
Built using REI’s GovGrants® framework and Salesforce’s Agentforce, GovSBIR is an easy-to-use, off-the-shelf solution. It helps federal agencies manage SBIR and STTR grants and contracts from start to finish, making the process more efficient, transparent, as well as adaptable. It also makes it easier for small businesses to apply by automating tasks, offering simple interfaces, checking for compliance, and providing self-help tools.
GovSBIR builds on REI Systems’ years of experience helping organizations like NASA, the Department of Defense, the EPA, and the SBA with SBIR solutions. It helps meet government goals for efficiency, financial responsibility, and modernizing technology.
GovSBIR solves common problems by enabling a single solution that combines different systems, standardizes processes, as well as allows real-time reporting to the SBA. Agencies benefit from lower costs, quicker setup times, along with improvements that come from ongoing updates to the system.
GovSBIR is designed to support the main tasks and data needs of the SBIR/STTR programs. However, it also lets agencies customize things like rules, forms, evaluation criteria, and deliverables. This flexibility allows each agency to work independently while still using the same system.
Executive Statement
According to Heather Morgan, Senior Product Lead at REI Systems, GovSBIR represents a bold shift from bespoke systems to a product model that empowers agencies to focus less on infrastructure and more on impact. This is not just about better software—it’s about enabling innovation at scale.
