Tim Tam, Australia's favorite chocolate biscuit brand, has launched a new flavor, Sweet & Salty, now available at Tesco stores in the UK exclusively.
This limited-edition range has proved highly popular with consumers, echoing a trend for developing flavors in the snack market.
According to Coherent Market Insights, the chocolate biscuit industry will grow at a 6.8% CAGR between 2025 and 2032. Market size in 2025 is USD 18.22 Bn and should grow by around USD 28.87 Bn by 2032. Market size is driven by growing consumer demand for indulgent food and beverages, higher disposable incomes, and the popularity of the chocolate flavor.
The Sweet & Salty version marries the classic creamy filling and chocolate coating that Tim Tam has long been associated with, with a twist – a crunchy salted cracker contained inside.
The move is aimed at satisfying both consumers of sweet and savoury snacks and riding the growing trend for hybrid flavours.
The launch of this flavour was said to have been inspired by a viral April Fools' Day social media update, which caused much interest among consumers and encouraged the brand to make the idea a reality.
Talyah Falabella, international marketing manager at Tim Tam, commented: "The level of consumer demand to turn this into an actual product was so strong we just had to turn it into reality. Tim Tam Sweet & Salty is the ultimate treat for sweet and salty fans to indulge in by bringing two favourite tastes together to create one irresistible biscuit."
The Sweet & Salty flavor, being a limited-edition offer, costs £2.50.
