Research Partner at ET NOW Top 50 Jewellery Brands of India 2025; AVP Mohit Shrivastava Presented Structured Brand Evaluation Framework

India / Global - 2025 - Coherent Market Insights (CMI) was honored to be associated with the ET NOW Top 50 Jewellery Brands of India 2025 as a Research Partner for supporting a prestigious national platform in identifying the most credible, influential, and high-performing jewellery brands based in India across various categories.

Mr. Mohit Shrivastava, AVP – Research & Consulting, Coherent Market Insights, represented CMI as part of the initiative and put forth the structured, multi-stage evaluation methodology developed to identify the leading jewellery brands in India. He described the intelligence-driven framework that is based on significant business strength, innovation capability, governance discipline, and long-term brand stability – intended to guarantee transparency, sectoral balance, and performance-based recognition.

Advancing India’s Jewellery Leadership Narrative

The ET NOW Top 50 Jewellery Brands of India 2025 initiative came into being with a goal to create a systematic, data-supported recognition system for the vibrant jewellery ecosystem of India. The initiative was an attempt to move beyond popularity-driven rankings and form a comprehensive talent-recognition framework.

Industry leaders, retail experts, brand custodians, financial analysts, and governance specialists came together as part of this initiative to celebrate excellence across gold, diamond, platinum, silver, bridal, luxury, lab-grown, digital-first, and heritage jewellery segments.

The Role of CMI: Creating a Transparent & Sector-Balanced Assessment System

In its capacity as a Research Partner, Coherent Market Insights oversaw the design and implementation of a demanding five-stage evaluation process to determine the Top 50 Jewellery Brands in India.

  • Comprehensive Market Mapping & Longlisting

A total of 1,000 jewellery brands operational across India were taken into consideration, and an extensive nationwide market mapping exercise was carried out. Thus, a representative and well-balanced longlist covering brand scales, geographical areas, and business strategies was created.

Listed companies, national retail chains, local heritage jewellers, boutique design-led brands, luxury houses, and up-and-coming digital-first players were all included owing to the mapping. In addition to sectoral representation covering gold, diamond, platinum, silver, polki and kundan, bridal, fashion, luxury, and lab-grown diamond segments, geographic diversity was maintained across metro areas and Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities.

CMI used structured data triangulation to identify the brands. This included inputs from top trade associations such as GJEPC, GJC, and IBJA as well as MCA statutory filings, audited annual reports, and BIS hallmark registration databases. The longlist’s breadth and neutrality were further reinforced by retail footprint mapping, marketplace presence analysis (including Tata Cliq Luxury and Nykaa Fashion), reliable media tracking, expert consultations, and organized nomination outreach.

  • Screening for Eligibility and Governance

Out of 1,000+ brands on the longlist, about 200–250 businesses made it through a rigorous eligibility and governance-led screening process.

The process mandated the brands to show that they were legally registered, had been operating continuously for at least three years, had an active retail or omnichannel presence, and had a verified operational scale. Mandatory compliance with BIS hallmark standards and the absence of serious regulatory infractions were additional crucial filters. Along with proof of consumer confidence and brand durability, transparency in pricing, sourcing, and governance practices were also evaluated.

This stage made sure that only reliable, compliance-ready, and performance-oriented brands moved to structured evaluation, making it extremely important.

  • Weighted Evaluation Framework

A calibrated scoring model with predefined weightages to ensure comparability across business sizes and categories was used to assess eligible brands.

The evaluation framework examined Brand Legacy and Market Standing, Financial Performance and Business Strength, Product Innovation and Design Excellence, Retail and Omnichannel Presence, Customer Experience and Brand Trust, Governance and Ethical Practices, and Sustainability initiatives.

In order to ensure fairness, revenue differences between national and regional brands were calibrated, category-level normalization was used, and digital-first companies were compared to their maturity stage. Greater analytical weight was assigned to measurable execution, verified financial strength, governance discipline, and demonstrable customer trust indicators.

  • Jury Review & Independent Validation

A multi-layer validation process involving senior editorial leadership from ET NOW, jewellery industry veterans, retail and consumer brand experts, financial analysts, and ESG specialists was put into place for the shortlisted brands.

Independent scoring templates aligned with defined weightages were deployed, and moderation reviews were conducted where scoring variances emerged. Financial disclosures, compliance certifications, retail footprint claims, and brand positioning statements were cross-verified against documentary evidence to ensure methodological integrity.

  • Data Normalization & Final Verification

In order to ensure equitable benchmarking across brand categories and scales, the scores were recalibrated prior to finalization. Final validation included confirmation of organizational tenure, certification claims, public financial disclosures (where available), and structured follow-ups to address incomplete or ambiguous submissions.

This final audit layer ensures transparency, comparability, and credibility of the recognition process.

Outcome

Over 1,000 jewellery brands were thoroughly screened as part of the organized, five-stage evaluation process; over 250 of these brands moved on to detailed assessment and jury review. Following the review process, the ET NOW Top 50 Jewellery Brands of India 2025 were determined by the brands with the highest composite scores.

The selected brands come in the category of India’s most credible and high-performing jewellery leaders—demonstrating sustained financial resilience, design innovation, retail scalability, governance discipline, and responsible business practices aligned with long-term brand sustainability.

Facilitating Systematic

  • Benchmarking in India’s Jewellery Industry

CMI’s research-driven framework produced a reliable benchmarking structure for India’s jewellery ecosystem. It promoted performance transparency, responsible growth, and governance-aligned recognition using this approach.
