In April 2023, Bayer AG announced that it would launch new bioinsecticides for arable crops in 2028. It signed an agreement with UK-based AlphaBio Control to gain exclusive rights to market the first-ever biological insecticides.

The novel bioinsecticides will help farmers to control pests in arable crops without impacting the environment. Their adoption is expected to grow rapidly as governments continue to introduce strict restrictions on synthetic pesticides.

In February 2025, ADAMA, a prominent crop protection company, launched three new fungicide co-formulations in the United Kingdom. These include MAGANIC, AVASTEL, and MAXENTIS. All these new fungicides contain the active ingredient prothioconazole. The former two fungicides also feature ADAMA’s AsorbitalTM formulation technology to provide faster protection against key oilseed rape and cereal diseases.

In December 2024, ADAMA revealed its plan to introduce Gilboa, a novel fungicide Active Ingredient. The new formulation will target key cereal and rape diseases, including Ramularia, Septoria, and Sclerotinia. Similarly, in November 2024, the company opened its new chloralkali production facility.  The new plant will supply essential components for ADAMA’s popular active ingredients, Folpet and Captan, used for fungicides to protect crops.

In June 2024, Sipcam Oxon SPA acquired Phyteurop SA. This acquisition will help the company to ensure continued access to a wide range of solutions, including traditional and innovative agrochemicals, biostimulants, and fertilizers, for French agriculture.
