EMCO Industries, a top maker of leaf springs for trailers, agricultural equipment, and specialty vehicles, has launched a High-Performance Mono-Leaf Spring for heavy-duty Trailer Axle. This new spring, rated for 22,400 pounds, helps solve supply chain delays that have caused problems for major manufacturers and distributors in getting this essential part.
The launch comes at a time when trailer makers are facing challenges from tariffs on foreign suppliers. EMCO’s new spring is 25% lighter than traditional 22.4K axle leaf springs, dropping from 53 pounds to 40 pounds. It also meets high performance standards, exceeding the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA) B-10 fatigue life requirements.
The new mono-leaf spring is ideal for applications needing low suspension clearance, like container chassis, flatbed trailers, and drive-on trailers. EMCO will offer both low-arch and high-arch versions, with the low-arch expected to be most popular based on customer feedback.
This launch also comes as EMCO nears completion of a new 30,000-square-foot automated factory, which will double its production capacity and improve delivery times.
Executive Statement
According to Marcus Hester, president of EMCO Industries, in today’s environment of supply chain uncertainty, they are providing reliability. Fueled in part by demand and by their track record of on- time delivery, they have seen a lot of customer enthusiasm. They are seizing this opportunity and are doubling down on their commitment to domestic manufacturing with a significant multimillion dollar investment in automation and expanded capacity.
According to Joel Schubach, chief operating officer and owner of Pratt Industries, they have been urging EMCO to develop a mono-leaf spring and they are thrilled that they’ve done it. Their commitment to using U.S. steel and investing in a state-of-the-art automated facility right here in America demonstrates exactly what they need more of in this industry. EMCO has proven they will deliver when they say they will deliver, and that’s one less factor, for their production folks to worry about.
