Honeywell has released a new shopping system that uses AI, developed with Google Cloud and 66degrees. This system aids shoppers in finding products, comparing similar items, as well as suggesting alternatives if something is out of stock, making in-store shopping easier and more enjoyable.
The system connects a store's digital information with the physical store, providing personalized recommendations, real-time product details, and suggestions like virtual shopping assistant does. Leveraging a Honeywell Android device, shoppers can link their loyalty accounts to get personalized product recommendations based on their past purchases, preferences, and discounts. It can also guide shoppers to find products in the store and suggest alternatives if something isn’t available.
Retail workers can also utilize the system to aid becoming more knowledgeable and efficient in assisting shoppers. For example, an employee can easily tell a customer where to find a specific item, like a dairy-free cereal. Thousands of retail workers at grocery stores, big box stores, and other retailers already use similar devices.
This new shopping platform will be available to customers starting in February 2026.
