Hoverfly Technologies, a leader in tethered drones, announced that it is starting to make drone parts with a new product line called HOVERFLY MOTORS, in partnership with Korea Robot Manufacturing (KRM). The new motors will help strengthen U.S. drone manufacturing, especially for defense needs.
This is the first step in a bigger plan to make more important drone parts in the U.S., with more products expected to be shown later this year at XPONENTIAL 2026 in Detroit.
Hoverfly executives visited KRM’s factory in South Korea on March 18, 2026, to review the partnership. The visit shows the companies are working closely together, not just as supplier and buyer. They discussed making more parts in the U.S. to meet “Made in USA” rules and new U.S. defense content requirements.
As per Coherent Market Insights, the Drone Service Market will grow at a 39.5% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2025 to 2032, from USD 34.02 Bn in 2025 to around USD 349.79 Bn by 2032. Drone Service Market is growing at a fast pace due to various factors such as technological advancements, increasing demand from end-use industries, and favorable regulatory environment. Increasing demand for efficient and accurate data in the oil and gas industry is driving the drone services market growth.
"This visit reinforced a truly strategic partnership that goes well beyond a supplier relationship," said Steve Walters, President & CEO of Hoverfly Technologies. "Demand for reliable, on-shored supply chains for drones in the U.S. defense market continues to grow, and our collaboration with KRM is the definitive answer to that need."
"The conversations we've had on the floor confirm a critical industry-wide gap for secure, high-capacity supply chains for defense and security drones. They need drone component providers that can operate independently of restricted foreign entities", said Miranda.
"We are not exporting parts; we are transplanting our most advanced robotics DNA into the American defense ecosystem," added Kwang-sik Park, CEO of KRM. "By combining KRM's precision engineering with Hoverfly's operational excellence, we are building a permanent, trusted bridge for the next generation of secure UAS technology."
