Ishida has introduced the IX-PD-Poultry (IX-PD-45A2-P), a high-performance x-ray inspection system for improving bone and contaminant detection in poultry processing.
According to coherent market insights, the x ray detectors industry will achieve a significant CAGR during the forecast period of 2025-2032. The market will progress at high speed during the forecast period. Industry size is driven by technological progress and various techniques.
Designed for large-volume operations, the system uses Ishida's patented Photo-Counting Dual Energy (PD) technology to provide higher accuracy and efficiency.
Featuring twin-lane operation, the IX-PD-Poultry can examine a variety of cuts, such as breast, deboned thigh, and inner fillets, picking up not just wish, rib, and fan bones but also small foreign bodies like metal pieces and steel wires.
At its center is a photon-counting detector that circumvents the conventional scintillation process, a high-wear component in typical x-ray systems. The outcome is more acutely imaging, lower maintenance and lower overall cost of ownership, presenting poultry processors with a future-proofed solution with an emphasis on quality, compliance and operational effectiveness.
Glen Oxborough, business manager of X-ray inspection at Ishida Europe, said: "We recognize the priority poultry companies have with product quality and the stringent standards they maintain to ensure it. Even the tiniest contaminant, such as a fragment of bone or metal wire, can irreparably harm a brand's reputation."
"The IX-PD-Poultry was designed with that in mind – providing increased detection and brand protection through state-of-the-art image processing."
This new introduction is part of Ishida's comprehensive range of inspection solutions, providing poultry producers with a powerful new solution for ensuring safety and quality in a competitive marketplace, with the IX-PD range now available for order.
