KitKat Chunky Gets a Flavour Boost with Two New Additions

Nestlé is expanding its KitKat Chunky range in the UK with the launch of two new limited-edition flavors to meet the shifting consumer demands in the food and beverage landscape.

KitKat Chunky Funky and KitKat Chunky Duo Salted Caramel will arrive on shelves this week, a strategic response to develop brand interaction and fuel sales in a crowded market.

KitKat Chunky Funky combines a crunchy cocoa wafer in a marbled milk chocolate and white coating, creating a visually appealing choice for consumers.

As per coherent market insights, the chocolate industry will progress at a 4.7% CAGR from 2025-2032. The market size of USD 130.64 Bn in 2025 will increase by approximately USD 180.29 Bn by 2032. Market size is fueled by increased demand for high-end chocolates by consumers.

Rida Ahmed, KitKat assistant brand manager, referred to the innovation of the new product, explaining that the York development team set its sights on building a new appearance with the same much-loved texture and flavor profile responsible for defining the KitKat brand.

Alongside the Funky variant, KitKat Chunky Duo Salted Caramel brings with it a gooey salted caramel filling over the traditional crunchy wafer, all covered in silky chocolate. The introduction falls into line with a larger trend within the confectionery sector where excess and creative flavour pairings are becoming more desirable among consumers.

Both brands are part of Nestlé's sustainability effort, sourced with cocoa from its income accelerator program. The program works to enhance the lives of cocoa farming households, improve environmental stewardship, and increase education for cocoa-producing children.

In a related move, Nestlé's Blue Riband brand also launched a new product: Blue Riband Vanilla. It has a smooth vanilla filling and light wafer and is positioned as a lower-calorie alternative at 83 calories per bar as demand for healthier snack options picks up.
