MV Agusta Reveals Dragster 800 RR and Brutale 800 RR

Oct, 2020 - by CMI

MV Agusta is looking for a new partner in India, as the company had ended its relationship with MotoRoyale Kinetic in early 2020.

MV Agusta, a motorcycle manufacturer has updated the Dragster 800 RR and Brutale 800 RR with the company’s new Smart Clutch System (SCS). Both Dragster 800 RR and Brutale 800 RR now join the Turismo Veloce 800 RC SCS and Turismo Veloce Lusso 800 SCS in featuring the smart clutch system that eliminates the use of the clutch lever. The next-gen Smart Clutch System developed by MV Agusta and Rekluse, a performance clutch manufacturer. The system features all the components people would find on a regular clutch system.

However, it automatically disengages when the bike comes to a stop and engages when the throttle is opened. The SCS system makes riding extremely convenient in traffic or at slow speeds. Apart from this, the SCS equipped bikes are faster than the line due to the lack of manual clutch operation. Moreover, apart from the SCS, both Dragster 800 RR and Brutale 800 RR look quite similar to their respective RR variants.

Both are powered by the same powertrain. The Dragster 800 RR and Brutale 800 RR is equipped with the same 798 cc that makes out 140 hp of power at 12,300 rpm and 87 Nm of peak torque at 10,100 rpm. Moreover, the SCS does not add extra weight to the bike. The Dragster 800 RR SCS weighs around 168 kg and the Brutale 800 RR SCS weighs around 175 kg, without liquids or fuel. In Europe, the price of the Dragster 800 RR SCS is US$ 21848.13 € 18,490) and the price of the Brutale 800 RR SCS is US$ 18894.96 (€ 15,990). However, the SCS equipped models are around US$ 1182.81 more costly than their respective RR models.
