British sweets maker Swizzels has rolled out two new HFSS-compliant products under its Squashies sweet range: Squashies Tropical and Squashies Shooting Stars.
The new products are launching against the rising UK popularity of sour and tropical flavors, as well as in response to rising demand for healthier, lower-sugar options.
According to coherent market insights, the candy industry is anticipated to grow at 4.5% CAGR during 2025-2032. The present market is USD 91.04 Bn in 2025 and will be around USD 123.89 Bn in 2032. The size of the market is driven by mounting demand for chocolate and gummy candies.
Squashies Tropical includes parrot, pineapple, and watermelon shapes in mango and passionfruit, pineapple, and watermelon fruity flavors. Squashies Sour Shooting Stars include sour flavor pairs of pink lemonade, peach, starfruit, and cola lime, in shooting star shapes.
Clare Newton, Swizzel trade and shopper marketing manager, added: "A reflection of consumer trends, such as the increased popularity of sour and tropical flavors, Squashies Tropical and Squashies Sour Shooting Stars have the same distinctive soft and foamy texture and iconic taste as Squashies but for those looking for an HFSS-compliant alternative."
The new items are in shiny, attention-grabbing packaging that will stand out on the shop floor, and have an RRP of £1.15. They also will be offered in PMP format to assist retailers in driving sales, generating impulse purchases, and establishing trust, price confidence, and shopper loyalty.
