Amprius Technologies, Inc., a prominent player in next-generation lithium-ion batteries, has announced the growth of its Korea Battery Alliance after a successful launch event in Daejeon, South Korea.
The Alliance has now added three new contract manufacturers, joining a group of Korean companies that provide materials, components, and production equipment for lithium-ion batteries. This expansion increases Amprius’ global manufacturing network and gives the company direct access to Korea’s advanced battery production system, which helps Amprius grow in trusted countries.
One of the main goals of the Alliance is to meet the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) requirements. By expanding production in allied countries, Amprius is reinforcing its secure as well as compliant supply chain to support industries like defense, aerospace, and critical infrastructure.
With the new partners, Amprius’ contract manufacturing network now has over 2 GWh of global capacity. This will help the company meet growing demand in its key markets.
The launch event was attended by Alliance members, South Korean government officials, investors, industry experts, university researchers, and media. The event focused on coordinating production, working with suppliers, and setting short-term goals.
