Cochlear has announced that its Nucleus® Nexa® System, the world’s first smart cochlear implant, is now available to US military veterans at VA clinics across the country. This system is designed to help veterans with hearing loss by offering advanced features like upgradeable software, internal memory, and a small, lightweight sound processor with long-lasting battery life.
The Nucleus Nexa System adjusts automatically to different environments, making it easier for users to hear clearly and comfortably. This comes as hearing loss is one of the most common injuries among veterans, with three in five affected.
Cochlear has been helping people with hearing loss since 1981, reaching over 750,000 people worldwide. They continue to innovate with a commitment to improving technology and quality of life for those with hearing loss.
Executive Statement
According to Lisa Aubert, President of Cochlear North America, veterans have given so much in service to their country, and they are excited to provide them access to the very best hearing technology available in the medical devices industry. Their mission is to help people hear and be heard, and this expansion of access to the new Nucleus Nexa System reflects their commitment to those who have served.
