Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to launch ten new and updated car models in South Korea in 2026. The company wants to grow its range of electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle in one of Asia’s largest markets for imported vehicles.
Mathias Vaitl, the CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, confirmed that the company will introduce four new models built on new platforms. These include all-new battery-powered and hybrid CLA sedans, and new electric GLC and GLB SUVs. They will also release six updated versions of existing models.
Vaitl described this launch as “the biggest product launch programme in Mercedes-Benz’s history” because it coincides with the 140th anniversary of the company. This milestone celebrates Karl Benz’s invention of the first vehicle in 1886. To mark the anniversary, Mercedes will also introduce special edition models.
In addition to the car launches, Mercedes-Benz Korea will roll out a new sales model called ‘Retail of the Future’. This will standardize car prices and inventory across the dealer network, following similar changes in Europe.
Mercedes-Benz’s sales in South Korea grew by 3% last year, with 68,467 units sold, making it the second best-selling import brand in the country, just behind BMW. The E-Class was its top-selling model with 28,700 cars delivered.
