Quickparts, a company that provides on-demand manufacturing for prototypes, production parts, and supply chain services, has completed a USD2.5 million upgrade to its headquarters in Seattle, Washington. This upgrade changes the Seattle site into an Aerospace and Defense Center of Excellence, fueling its ability to make high-quality stereolithography (SLA) along with investment-casting patterns.
The new facility will serve as a central hub for producing investment-casting patterns and advanced SLA systems across the Americas. With the addition of new equipment, Quickparts can now produce lightweight, high-fidelity casting patterns for industries like drones, satellites, aviation, and defense, where precise shrinkage and low-ash burnout are crucial.
The upgrades also improve the surface quality and geometric consistency of SLA components, making the production of casting patterns for aerospace supply chains more reliable and consistent.
Quickparts has launched its Quick Mold injection-molding service in the U.S. and Canada, after a successful rollout in Europe. This service produces injection-molded parts in as little as five days by utilizing aluminum tooling as well as engineering-grade thermoplastics.
Quick Mold aids companies quickly validate materials, make design changes, as well as conduct tests before committing to long-term tooling. For example, Quickparts has demonstrated one-day design changes, a four-day turnaround for high-stress automotive parts, and the ability to design, tool, and mold a luxury car control button in just four days.
This service helps manufacturers speed up the process from prototyping to production, ensuring the parts meet quality and performance standards before full-scale manufacturing begins.
