LS Electric of South Korea has made a contract worth 110 billion won (USD 76 million) to supply power equipment for data centers across the U.S. The company, which has been a client of LS Electric since 2022, will receive transformers from 2026 to 2028. The name of the company is not being revealed.
LS Electric is part of the South Korean company LS Group. It is the biggest company in South Korea's data center power market, controlling 60% of the market.
This year, LS Electric signed several deals with data center and tech companies. One of the deals, worth 132.9 billion won (USD 91.9 million), was signed just last week to provide high-voltage and low-voltage switchgears and transformers to a data center in Tennessee. They also signed a $46 million contract in September with a large tech company for a hyperscale AI data center in the U.S.
LS Electric has teamed up with the American company Honeywell to create power solutions for data centers. They plan to co-develop a battery energy storage system for data centers, factories, and large buildings.
LS Electric continues to expand its global presence, particularly in the U.S. data center infrastructure market, with the aim to reinforce partnerships as well as boost innovation. The company’s focus on high-tech solutions, like AI-powered data centers and energy storage systems, positions it as a major player in the escalating demand for efficient, sustainable power infrastructure in the tech industry.
