Tetra Pak has opened a new Product Development Centre (PDC) in Rayong, Thailand to help food and drink companies in Asia Pacific turn new ideas into real products faster.
Southeast Asia is growing quickly, with more urban people, a bigger middle class, and higher demand for healthy and functional foods. This has helped the functional beverage market grow about 15% each year.
To support this growth, Tetra Pak has built an innovation network in APAC to help companies develop and launch new products more efficiently.
The new centre is 40,000 sq. ft. and has two main areas: Liquid Food Solutions and Food Development Facility. It has pilot plants for both aseptic and non-aseptic production. The PDC supports six fast-growing food and drink categories, including dairy, beverages (juice, coffee, tea, etc.), plant-based foods, ice cream, ready-to-eat meals, and nutrition products.
As per Coherent Market Insights, the Food and Beverage Processing Equipment Market will grow at a 5.7% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2025 to 2032, from USD 72.13 Bn in 2025 to around USD 106.39 Bn by 2032. The growing demand for packaged food & beverages due to changing lifestyles and busy schedules of consumers is driving significant investments in food processing machinery. The Global food and beverage processing equipment market is witnessing trends like growing automation and the development of technologically advanced equipment.
Julia Luscher, Vice President, Marketing at Tetra Pak, comments: "Across Asia Pacific, we are seeing strong demand for higher-value, more differentiated food and beverage products. To compete regionally and globally, manufacturers need faster validation cycles, more efficient development, and the ability to scale with confidence. Tetra Pak Product Development Centre's global network provides that platform, bringing together our capabilities in product innovation and processing excellence with a strong regional ecosystem for food innovation. This will help manufacturers accelerate product development and support more sustainable growth across the industry."
