April 15 onwards, all paid Twitter Blue users will be featured through the “For You” algorithm.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has stated 2 new changes for the social media. Starting April 15, Twitter may only be showing paid Twitter Blue subscribers through its “For You” recommendations. This was published through Elon Musk‘s official Twitter profile.

A Twitter Blue subscription prices $8 for every month once signed up through the internet as well as when did sign up through mobile applications.  Apart the monetary requirements, no authentication steps are in place to confirm a user’s identity. Any consumer has the option to remain completely anonymous while still being “verified” on Twitter.

In the past, users seeking to obtain a “confirmed” blue tick would need to pass through a layer of identity authentication until they got verified. Additionally, Twitter recently declared the end of this old "verified" program. Consumers validated there under legacy initiative would then end up losing their “authenticated” status on April 1. Therefore, the sole means of staying “verified” on Twitter from April 1 on till is by purchasing a Twitter Blue subscription.

Musk gives a reason for these new changes points to a bot swarm issues that could be present in the social media platform. Therefore, no further details given to users for the same. Subscription does not necessarily verify any identity, it is quite unclear how the voting and algorithm changes may deal the bot swarm issue.

Musk clarified the service may continue to obtain authenticated bot accounts that follow the platform’s terms of service.

In the upcoming and recent changes, it is to be seen if users will regard paying for a Twitter Blue subscription. This might be the great time to contemplate a Twitter alternative.
